Nice Job-- didn't know you were back, I checked on you a few times during the summer..

Knew a gut who used to walk into bars with a raccoon on his shoulder.. He'd let it down on the bar and it would knock over a few peoples drinks, lap up the booze from the bar, get drunk and fall asleep.

I think being drunk works best, It won't be hard to convince Floridians it wasn't intentional all he drank was water. Most of us are already convinced there must be something wrong with water up there

My dad was up in arms about this guy, stolen honors et al from (Dad's a leftie – I’m a righty) St. Pete Times. I'm not a leftie and really haven't heard of this guy. I am a military officer so I was intrigued I went to his Website (mikemccalisterforsenate.com) and about laughed my ass off. You never quote your OER as part of your resume, nor do you use your military awards as further props...The Legion of Merit, that was a retirement award if you look at the date. This guy made Major in the MO National Guard, was probably DA Selected for Lieutenant Colonel. When MO would not promote him, he moved to the FL National Guard, they wouldn’t promote him either so he went into the IRR where he was automatically promoted under DA policy. The rest of his career looked like he did Active Duty for Special Work assignments as a member of the IRR where boarded for Colonel, was selected, and then promoted. His work with USSOCOM I’m sure was very important, but there’s about 600 reserve LTC’s and COL’s running around SOCOM and CENTCOM doing much the same stuff. I was a planning expert at CENTCOM which meant that I was posted in the plans shop with about 40 other gents. Go-to guy for testimonies? Maybe the go-to guy for preparing the general’s briefing book or one-pager. No one remembers this man just like no one remembers 90% of the other action officers that go in and out.
Mike needs to stick to teaching and not give the rest of us Colonels a bad name and more importantly, puts the Guard and Reserve in a bad light.

Don't know how I have missed meeting you and just recently found your blog. You are spot on, when I heard Mr. McCallister speak in FWB, in uniform, at a REC meeting, I was shocked when he made a statement that would violate the Constitution of this country. But sadly, what are our choices, unless you truly believe Hasner has suddenly found his conservative credentials. Reminds me to much of CC, though.
