The Two Most Important Rules For The Revolution (Take the Poll!)

by BloggyBayou on November 20, 2011

I humbly submit to you one of the most condescending, navel gazing, totally clueless and worthless pieces to hit the Internet, well, since THIS.

Robert Hass, former Poet Laureate of the United States and currently a professor of poetry and poetics at the University of California, idealizes the UC Berkeley kids who got a face full of pepper spray yesterday.  In the article, he bemoans the fact that these poor kids (who probably for the most part, are Humanities majors)  have “average indebtedness of something like $16,000.”

The Internet cuts both ways, Herr Professor.  I looked up your salary that the good parents of the students attending Berkeley and United States taxpayers are paying you: 205 GRAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s right America, we are paying an aging hipster poet over 200 grand to flit about and write, for lack of a better term, horseshit. I can’t believe this guy has the audacity to complain about the amount of debt college students are racking up (especially since they are majoring in such critical, but useless, majors such as Greek Poetry or European Cinema.)

The “First Rule of the Coming  Revolution” still remains “Kill All The Lawyers”.  However, I hereby suggest the “Second Rule Of The Coming Revolution” be changed from “Hang All The Congressmen” to “Fire All the Poets”.
