In Tribute To A Man I Never Met, Joshua Goldberg

by BloggyBayou on February 12, 2011

Joshua Goldberg has died.  From Lucianne.com, It was an accidental fall and he did not suffer.  Life is so fragile.  My sympathy to the family and my understanding.  I lost a half-brother a few years ago (he was only 23) and I saw the pain on my Father’s face.  It was the only time I saw him cry.  My respect and sympathy to the Goldberg family, but above all to Mrs. Goldberg.

I blog for the sheer love of writing and to help keep me sane.  My readership is small, but I keep plugging away.  My MOST exciting day as a blogger was the day Joshua Goldberg wrote me and told me I had been given posting privileges at “Blogs Lucianne Loves”.  Joshua and I exchanged emails occasionally and he just recently posted one of my writings as blog of the day.  I was honored and flattered.  The work Joshua did on all of the Lucianne sites not only linked to the writings of the media elite, it also gave voice and political power to the common voices that make up America.  It was AND IS a remarkable achievement.  And from what I gather, and I suspect his mother would back me on this, it was on the shoulders of Joshua Goldberg that the pioneering site of Lucinane.com was built.

Joshua did not seek the limelight, he sought the hard work and effort to give voice to some of us who do seek the limelight.

Condolences can be posted on another of Joshua’s creations “The Connection” .  Email would be overwhelming. Post your condolences there.

I never talked to Joshua, I never met him, but I will miss him.  The world is a poorer place today.
